If you would like to transfer a domain from one registrar to another, you’ll have to pass through several security procedures. One of them is obtaining a unique EPP authentication code from the present domain name registrar – as long as you are the domain registrant, since the code is emailed to the owner's email account and no one else can obtain it. You’ll have to provide this code to the new domain name registrar, or else they will not be able to initiate the domain transfer. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may include numbers or special symbols such as dots or commas, which can be easily miswritten, so make sure you copy and paste the correct code. As an extra security measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain name may be altered on a regular basis. Some domain name registrars call this code a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Website Hosting

You can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain that you’ve registered through us with just a couple of clicks of the mouse from the same Hepsia Control Panel that you’ll use to manage your shared website hosting account. As soon as you go to the Registered Domains section, you will see all your domain names neatly listed in alphabetical order. If a particular TLD extension supports transfers between domain registrars with an EPP code, you will see an EPP button on the right side of the given domain. If you click on that button, the code will be emailed to the email address associated with the Registrant contact for the given domain dame. If you want, you can edit the contact info, including the email, without even leaving this section of the Control Panel, in case the current email isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you register a domain name under a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you will be able to obtain its EPP transfer code with just a click of the mouse, if you decide to move it to some other registrar company. All it takes to do that is to log into your Hepsia Control Panel, to navigate to the Registered Domains section and to click the EPP button, which will be next to the domain. Of course, such a button will be available only if the given TLD extension supports transfers with an EPP transfer code. Within 60 seconds, an email that contains the EPP code will be sent to the domain name owner’s email address associated with that domain name. You can change the latter via the exact same section of the Control Panel – if the one that’s currently listed in the WHOIS archives isn’t a valid one. As the change will propagate without any delays, you can request the EPP code directly after that.
